ANDREW DUMBLETON - STOKE NEWINGTON PHYSIOTHERAPy
Andrew Dumbleton is an experienced musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapist and the founder of Physio50, established in 2021 to provide high-quality, personalized physiotherapy care to the local community.
NHS Training & Experience
Before founding Physio50, Andrew served as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist for Connect Health, working as part of the Camden NHS Trust. In this role, he treated a diverse range of patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions, gaining extensive experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries and chronic pain.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew took on the role of first contact triage practitioner for Camden's NHS services. This position required expert clinical judgment, as he was entrusted with assessing patients and determining the most appropriate care pathway for their needs - a responsibility that demonstrates the trust placed in his clinical expertise.
Education & Qualifications
Andrew graduated from St George's University of London with his physiotherapy qualification, one of the UK's leading medical schools with a reputation for excellence in healthcare education. His training encompasses:
Advanced musculoskeletal assessment and treatment techniques
Sports injury rehabilitation
Exercise prescription and movement analysis
Pain management strategies
Evidence-based clinical practice
A Unique Career Path
What sets Andrew apart is his diverse background. For 18 years before entering physiotherapy, he successfully ran a garden design and construction company. This experience instilled strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach to helping people achieve their goals - qualities that translate perfectly into physiotherapy practice.
This varied career path means Andrew brings a different perspective to patient care. He understands the physical demands of manual work, the challenges of running a business, and the importance of getting people back to doing what they love.
Treatment Philosophy
Andrew's approach to physiotherapy is straightforward and patient-centered:
Evidence-Based Care Every treatment recommendation is grounded in current research and proven clinical practices. No unnecessary appointments, no exaggerated claims - just honest, effective care.
Site-Specific Treatment Rather than generic treatments, Andrew pinpoints the exact area of discomfort, determines which tissues are involved, and targets treatment accordingly for faster, more effective results.
Realistic & Achievable Goals Treatment plans are designed around your lifestyle, commitments, and capabilities. Whether you're an elite athlete or someone who simply wants to garden without pain, your goals matter.
Empowering Patients Andrew believes in equipping patients with the knowledge and tools to manage their own recovery. Through education and tailored exercise programmes, you'll understand your condition and take an active role in getting better.
